It’s a wrap for May!

Happy Friday  y’all!! .. and it’s a three day weekend!  My schedule has been super busy recently and I’m not complaining as busy is always my preference.   Oddly enough I seem to get more accomplished when I’ve got a lot on the calendar .. go figure:) so bring it on and when you work hard you get to play hard!

Despite the cloudy weather today the prediction is for plenty of sunshine ahead and I can’t wait!  Spring fashion is so refreshing and I’m excited to finally pack away those heavy knits and cashmere sweaters.  I’m loving the feminine florals, lacy tops, and summer dresses!

Take advantage of the sales this weekend and stock up on some basics.  If you are in the market for a few designer pieces, now is the time to shop.  At the bottom of the page I’ve listed a few sites that are offering a significant discount on designer-wear.   On-line shopping is the way to go with free shipping and returns are always easy.  I  just ordered this moto clutch in nude and these open-toe block heels from Rag & Bone.  If they sell out .. try here;)  Here is a round-up of a few favorites this month.

Happy spring and enjoy your long weekend ahead!

hats for summer

This hat is perfect for gardening or doing errands.  If you don’t wear hats because they feel uncomfortable or mess up your hair,  I recommend going up a size.  Get used to wearing a hat!   Not only do you receive extra protection from damaging UV rays, hats are a fun fashion accessory!

This top is so pretty and I’ve worn it several times already.  It is super soft and the cut is  flattering.  You can wear it with a skirt if you’d like to dress it up a bit.    Juxtapose with soft distressed denim and a fun bootie or sneakers!

stripe top

A little nautical is always fun and I found this soft stripe top to wear with white and dark denim. I live in soft cotton and this is one of those items that will get softer after each wash;)

denim top

I love this denim top!  I’ve worn it with white capris, distressed denim, and with a white pencil skirt to the office.  It’s marked down!

If you are looking for an off-the-shoulder top, check this one out.  The little straps help keep everything in place and make it easy to add a bralette or camisole.       Here is a list of several off the shoulder tops that are marked down.  This one is similar to mine and is half the price!

Recipe

There’s that sweet little top again!  I’m making Ice Cream Pie and sharing my recipe plus this adorable hand panted pie and quiche plate.   Great gift idea, don’t you think?..

home

Love these bowls and pretty linen napkins!  They come in a set of three and come in jade and also a pretty pink.

beauty

Don’t forget to freshen up your vanity by tossing out products that were bought during the holidays and add a few new items for the spring and summer.  For a sun kissed glow apply this creamy bronzer to your cheeks, temples, and jaw area.  Next add a sheer luminizer  for  a translucent, satin finish .. love this look for spring and summer!  Check out my post here for a few of my favorite beauty picks!

  1. Hi Leslie,

Where did this month go? It’s almost Summer!

I do like hats but ugh my forehead still gets oily at my age (ridiculous) and then I end up with my bangs looking yucky. I wear a hat always when in the garden though or if I’m near the water.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Linda,

Yes, where did the month go and I too can’t believe summer is almost here. I understand the issues surrounding hats .. glad to hear you are wearing one outside while gardening:) Enjoy your weekend!
