ex·er·cise    noun

activity requiring physical effort, carried out especially to sustain or improve health and fitness.

“exercise improves your heart and lung power”

Do you fit exerise in your schedule when it’s convenient or do you have a weekly exercise schedule that you stick to?

Exercise is a priority for me,  and most of the time I enjoy heading to the gym for a class.  On the days I squeeze a run or walk in at the end of a long work day .. it’s a bit more of a challenge but once I’m moving it’s all good;)  and I’m glad I’m outside and moving.  Two pregnancies and normal physical wear and tear is a gentle reminder to change things up as needed.  It’s important to watch what’s bothing you ~ and use what’s not;)

Cross training or interval training works best for me. Most gyms offer a variety of classes that allow you pick and choose what your body needs.  Yoga, high/low cardio classes, and weight training are my go-to classes.  If the gym isn’t your jam!,  take a walk with a friend.  It’s the perfect time to squeeze exercise in and visit!
My husband enjoys running and me .. not so much.   Once or twice a week though, Layla and I meet him for a run and it’s so much fun!  We run soft, padded trails and it’s a wonderful way to end the day together.

Running Buddies are the best!

Make sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen!  I like SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense.  It’s matted and doesn’t irritate my skin or eyes.

My favorite shorts and capris are from Lululemon.  Yep .. they are pricey but I promise, they last forever!  A light weight sweatshirt is a necessity.  I have two:)   This one from Carbon 38 is nice if it’s chilly out and I really like my lululemon pullover.  It’s great for errands around town or going to the gym.

Shoes!!  New Balance are popular for high impact classes and running.  I’m wearing Nike Air currently and really like them.  Size up a half size to account for swelling (this just happens;).   Details ~ socks, a supportive top, etc.. are all important too and will make whatever you choose to do much easier.

What we eat is important too!

Don’t forget to eat a little something within about thirty minutes post exercise.  Reach for a banana with peanut butter or in a pinch a Luna Bar.  They are relatively low in sugar and have a nice mix of carbohydrate and protein.
