Summer Porch Update for the 4th of July

I can’t believe we are already approaching the month of July! With the long 4th of July weekend ahead, we are planning day trips and hopefully the weather will cooperate so we can grill, roast s’mores, and plan a picnic.

Our weather here in WA state is still overcast for the most-part with rain and a few sun breaks.  We complain about the lack of sun and then when the heat arrives (mid-July) everyone starts complaining it’s too hot;)  I guess you can’t win with certain things!  The rain is important for WA.  Our forests need water to stay green and the streams need to stay full for our salmon that come in the fall.

For the 4th of July I found a bunting banner  for the entrance.  My father was born and raised in the New Orleans and every now and then I feel like I need to have southern decor in our home and this banner is perfect.  Bunting banners feel patriotic and this one has an antique look and feels durable.

We also changed the urns up a bit. The grass was sort of taking over so I removed it and added a little color. As the 4th gets closer I’ll add small flags to the urn and up the stone paver  entrance.

I found these darling pillows at PB.  You can flip them for stripes or stars depending on your mood.

Here are some more fun accessories for the 4th of July:
