Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 Pears I used the anjou variety however you can use bartlett or bosc if you'd like
  • 8 ounces Brie or Vegan Cream Cheese *vegan option
  • 1/2 cup Chopped walnuts, roasted
  • 2 or 3 tbsp Honey
  • Rosemary garnish is optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Chop walnuts and place on a parchment lined baking tray. Toast walnuts until slightly brown, about 5 minutes. When roasted, remove from oven and set aside.

  2. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F. Slice baguette into 12 or more thin slices. Brush each slice with olive oil and toast until golden brown, 8-10 minutes. Olive oil doesn't like high heat so keep your temperature between 350-375 degrees F.

  3. On each piece of toasted baguette, add a slice of brie followed by a thin slice of pear.

  4. Drizzle only over each crostini and top with crushed walnuts or pecans.

Recipe Notes

This is the perfect holiday appetizer and also one that is fairly standard so it's easy for a guest to bring if they'd like to contribute. Serve with white wine if desired.
