The first day of school always feels like a little bit of fresh start, the excitement of new beginnings, and those last few summer mornings before everyone settles back into a familiar rhythm. These Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls are an easy back to school treat that feels extra special. Made with store-bought cinnamon rolls and a simple trick with kitchen twine, they transform into the sweetest little pumpkins right in the oven.
I love that they’re festive without requiring much work. There’s no homemade dough or complicated decorating, just a package of cinnamon rolls, a fw pieces of food-safe twine, and a little cinnamon stick for the stems.
And while it may still be August, I think thee are the perfect way to gently welcome what’s ahead. Just a little hint of fall, without rushing the season.
Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make a moment feel more memorable.

Tips for making Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls
- Use food safe twine.
- Don’t tie the rolls too tightly. The cinnamon rolls need room to expand.
- Use scissors to help remove the twine after cooking.
- Add the icing while still warm.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls
An easy back-to-school snack idea!
Ingredients
- 1 tube refrigerator cinnamon rolls with icing (I used the *Immaculate brand)
- Cinnamon sticks cut into small pieces
- Food-safe cooking twine
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 30 degrees F.
- Remove cinnamon rolls from packaging and place on parchment lined baking sheet.
- For each roll, use 4 pieces of food-safe cooking twine to gently create four sections around the cinnamon roll (watch my video). Tie loosely so the dough can expand.
- Place a small piece of cinnamon stick in the middle of each roll to create a stem.
- Bake 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and carefully remove twine while the cinnamon rolls are still warm.
- Drizzle included icing over the top of the cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
These are best enjoyed right out of the oven however if you want to enjoy them a little later, they can be reheated.
A very easy recipe for a very sweet start to the new school year.
