These take me back to school lunchtime when I was in grade school. Fudgy brownies layered with a rich, chocolate frosting that takes them to a new level of deliciousness.

Like most of my recipes, I’ve kept the ingredient list simple so hopefully you have most of these items in your pantry and won’t need to struggle with complicated, detailed instructions.

Chocolate Fudge Brownies

I’ve started using cacao powder in place of bakers chocolate. It has a slightly different taste than you may or may not prefer however I’m going with it because there are some nutritional benefits to cacao. This is the brand I’m using.

Baking Tips:

  • Use cacao powder instead of bakers chocolate. It’s healthier and tastes better.
  • Careful when melting the chocolate and butter. Use 15 to 30 second intervals on your microwave, stirring in between.
  • Avoid over mixing the batter. A few small lumps is not a problem.
  • Allow the brownies to set 20 minutes after frosting prior to cutting.
  • These brownies will keep in the refrigerator for a few days and if put in a Stasher bag, a couple months in the freezer.

  1. I notice you have “14”cups of cacoa powder in the brownie part of this recipe. Is that a misprint? Especially with only 2/3 C of flower.
    Thank you.
