How to Create an Autumn Pumpkin Basket
With Autumn in full swing and Halloween just around the corner I’ve been trying to come up seasonal decor that will be fun to display through Thanksgiving. Rather than stacking all my pumpkins in one spot I created an autumn pumpkin basket to hold a few pumpkins, pompous grass, and my favorite chunky throw. This autumn pumpkin basket will stay here through Thanksgiving.
To create your basket you only need a few items:
- pompous grass
- pumpkins
- basket
- throw
I purchased this basket a couple years ago and re-purpose it all the time! If you are in the market for baskets here are a few of my favorites:
How to Create an Autumn Pumpkin Basket
Choose your favorite basket. Make sure it’s tall enough and able to hold your pumpkins and throw. Fill the basket 3/4 full with towels, pillows, or throws to help the basket retain its shape and support its contents.
On the top I added my favorite medium sized pumpkins, a chunky knit throw, and pompous grass. If you have a decorative throw, display the pretty corners or simply pull out a section of your throw as seen here. You can also try different colored pumpkins!
If you are looking for a cozy throw for autumn and winter, here are some of my favorites:
These baskets look pretty anywhere! Try placing your autumn pumpkin basket in your foyer, bedroom, or near the fireplace. I like that this is both pretty and functional ~ win-win!
