Moving to the country has been a dream of mine for years and it is now coming to fruition. As we continue our move in tandum with a huge renovation project, I’m trying to enjoy the moment and not get caught up in the stress of when will this or that be completed and where is the furniture I ordered? Our scheduled move in date is in less than two weeks. Until then we are living out of suit cases in a hotel (with our two dogs) and making the best of the situation. We’ve had a beautiful summer here in the Pacific Northwest and enjoying the process and getting to know our new digs is where our focus should be!
Just around the corner our neighbor has a beautiful farm house and ranch. They raise sheep and sell wool products, have a large garden, and also have bees for honey! I look forward to supporting and utilizing our local resources for food essentials. Our home is perfectly situated to allow us access to all the things we love, ranches, farms, rivers, streams, and hiking trails. This environment and slower pace of living is so important to us.
As much as I like the spring and early summer, the color palette of dark green forests, blue rivers, and golden grass in the summer always inspires me. These colors really grab my attention, particularly at the golden hour. It’s no surprise that Jenni Kayne came up with the perfect golden knit for summer. Wear with white denim or cut offs for an effortless summer look. I’ve also recently ordered the Jenni Kayne safari hat. It wide brim and leather strap is perfect for those on-the-go summer days. A few weeks ago I ordered this Ulla Johnson tiered cotton-poplin midi dress (on sale) and have already worn in three times. I’ve been wearing it with leather slides but wedges would also look pretty.
More golden hour favorites!
