Here’s an easy appetizer idea that will take the stress out of entertaining. It comes together quickly, using creamy Boursin and cream cheese. From there, all you need is some chopped walnuts, herbs, and a baguette.

Creamy Boursin mixed with soft cream cheese gets whipped until it’s light and spreadable, then layered over warm, toasted baguette slices so it melts just slightly into the bread.

Each bits is rich and creamy first, with that garlicky, herb flavor from the cheese coming through right away. They you get the crunch from the toasted baguette and walnuts, which keeps it from feeling too heavy, The fresh herbs add a little brightness and the end, and if you finish it with a drizzle of EVOO, it rounds everything out in the most simple and satisfying way.

Whipped Boursin Crostini with Walnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or more if needed
  • 1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin Cheese (garlic and fine herbs)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped, roasted walnuts
  • 2 tbsp herbs (thyme and chives)
  • Flaky sea salt and olive oil to finish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Arrange baguette slices on parchment paper. Drizzle or brush with olive oil and bake for about 8 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine Boursin and softened cream cheese. Whip together until creamy and spreadable.
  4. When crostini is done, remove from the oven and allow to cool.
  5. Spread cheese mixture on sliced baguette.
  6. Chop herbs and walnuts.
  7. Assemble - top each baguette with cheese, walnuts, chives, and thyme.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil and serve.
