Melted mozzarella that stretches from every piece you grab – this pull apart sourdough requires only a few ingredients and is the perfect finger food and is sure to be a hit at your holiday gatherings.
You’ll need about 45 minutes and a good bread knife, you’ll have the perfect centerpiece and side dish that will impress everybody.
A few lengthwise cuts forming a crisscross that are easy to grab and create lots of space to add tapenada or pesto and lots of cheese. Bake before game day or use a the perfect holiday appetizer!

Cheesy Stuffed Sourdough
Easy to make, cheesy loaf of sourdough that can enjoyed as an appetizer or along side a bowl of cozy soup or stew.
Ingredients
- 1 round loaf of sourdough bread
- 8-10 ounces Mozzarella Cheese, sliced not shredded
- 1/2 or more of *Tapenada
- Fresh or dried oregano
- French sea salt (or whatever coarse salt you have on hand)
- Olive oil for drizzling
- pizza sauce or marinara for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Slice bread in a crisscross pattern, slicing just to the bottom but not through the bottom of the loaf. Keep rotating the loaf 45 degrees creating a diamond pattern.
- Spoon Tapenada between the bread slices. Fill in with slices of mozzarella.
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle fresh or dried oregano on top. Sprinkle with French sea salt.
- Place bread on parchment paper and place in a springform pan or Dutch oven*. Lightly cover with foil.
- Bake for about 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and serve immediately.
- Marina dipping sauce is optional!
Notes
Use a springform pan if you have one. It's easier to remove the bread. Serve warm out of the oven. Try with pesto!
