May is a transitional month. Despite the rain and overcast days – we are gearing up for summer. Our calendar is filling up with all the good things: a trip to South Carolina, dinners out, gardening, and house projects. We are working on our summer routine, becoming more intentional about time manangement and prioritizing what we need to.

There’s just something about the beginning of summer that is incredibly energizing. The warm sunshine at 6 pm, boat days and al fresco dining. Everything just feels so simple and easy.

Here are are few of my favorite things that are perfect for right now.

I ordered a few new items for summertime and pulled out those tried and true items that we use over and over again for our cookouts and spontaneous summer entertaining.

Navy Linen Stripe Tablecloth Classic linen is timeless and I like the blue and white stripe for summertime. If you are looking for more color and pattern, simple-yet -striking yellow placemats are worth the splurge and so are these glasses.

Fruit Basket – more selection here. Display on a vintage kitchen sideboard or use as a stylish table center piece and fill with produce from the morning market. So Chic!

Dessert Plate So pretty and works well for serving small lunches. Melamine is also a good option as it’s less expensive, washes well and doesn’t break.

With all the summer flowers coming into bloom, you’ll need vessels. I pull out a variety of pitchers and vases (my vase edit). If you are in the market for something you’ll have forever, take a peak at this one. Beautiful and comes in different colors. I also like Rattan wrapped pitchers and found this one on Amazon – for less.

Salt and Pepper shakers These are vine leaf salt and pepper shakers are so adorable and I also like these red ones.
