This Hot Honey Sweet Potato Beef Bowl is having a moment. It’s everywhere on TikTok and so naturally I had to try it.
Basically the recipe involves seasoned ground beef, roasted sweet potatoes, cottage cheese, avocado, and a drizzle of hot honey. Yum!

What is a Hot Honey Sweet Potato Bowl?
Basically it’s a bowl filled with roasted sweet potatoes, taco seasoned ground beef, cottage cheese, avocado and then drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey. You can add leafy green if you’d like but the basic ingredients are he same. Everyone like these bowls because they are filling and contain healthy fats, fiber, and protein.
Equipment:
- Sheet pan
- Parchment paper
- Cast iron skillet
- Meat chopper (optional)
What you’ll need to pick up at the market:
- Sweet potatoes. I plan on one half potato per serving.
- Beef: 1/4 pound per serving.
- Avocado: 1/2 per serving.
- Taco seasoning: 2 tbsp per one pound of beef
- Cottage Cheese: 1/2 cup per serving.
- 2 or more tbsp hot honey (I order this on Amazon)
Hot Honey Sweet Potato Beef Bowl

Full of protein, healthy fats and fiber this Hot Honey Sweet Potato Beef Bowl is one of our favorite go-to meals!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- Sweet Potatoes, 2 medium
- Hot Honey* (below in notes)
- 2 or more cups of cottage cheese (I like the full fat version)
- Taco seasoning* ( I make my own)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Dice sweet potatoes. Place on parchment paper and toss with olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake for 20 minutes, flip and bake for another 15 minutes until the sweet potatoes start to brown.
- While the potatoes bake, prepare the beef mixture. Heat frying pan on medium heat, add beef and cook until done.
- Add taco seasoning plus 1/4 cup water, stir and cook for a few minutes.
- Remove from heat. Prepare bowls: Add sweet potato, taco meat, cottage cheese and avocado. Finish with a drizzle of hot honey. Serve.
