You don’t need to go pink and red everything to create a cozy Valentine vibe in your home. This week I am sharing simple ways to add Valentine vibes to your home. Make sure to pop back over tomorrow. I’ll be sharing our family room!
So the question is why decorate a bathroom? Because Valentine’s Day is about love. Love for your family, your partner, and most importantly yourself. Today I am sharing one of my favorite self-care rituals, bath time. I can’t think of anything much better than a long soak in the the tub on a cold winter day.
So pour yourself a cub of tea and lets talk about all things cozy and pretty!
Add Flowers
So easy! Grab a bunch when you’re at the market or order on line (faux or fresh). I shared my favorite places to order flowers on this blog post if you need ideas.
I found my vintage pitcher over on ETSY and it moves all around the house. It was a great find. The stool is also vintage and can be found here.

Display your pretty cosmetics and have books nearby to read while you soak.
Bring in your favorite candles
There are so many to choose from! I like to change mine up seasonally. Cedar is one of my favorites. You can also use 6 to 12 white votive candles. Dim the lights and light the candles for the ultimate bath experience!

Put on your favorite playlist
For February I like to go with something a little romantic like Bossa Nova or Michael Buble. French music is also fun and so feminine.
Fill your tub
This is the best part! Once the water is running, I add a cup or so of magnesium bath salts with essential oil added. I purchase bath salts in bulk and don’t pay for expensive name brand versions. You can buy bath salts without essential oils and then add your own to the bath if you’d like. My favorite essential oils to add are Eucalyptus and Lavender. I also like to add a little bit of this foaming bath oil. For a DIY tutorial on how to make your own bath salts, head over to this blog post.
Rose petals are so romantic and feel luxurious when added to the bath. If I have roses that are spent, sometimes I remove the petals and store in the refrigerator for up to a week and then add them to the bath. Another option is to buy them. I purchase my rose petals from Etsy. They arrive in an airtight bag and can last a few weeks.
