How to add simple Valentine’s Day touches to your home
What is Valentine’s Day to you? We don’t go all-out for this day. You won’t see candy everywhere and layers of pink and white. I do enjoy just a little bit of feminine color and the addition of flowers.
I ordered this sweet bunting banner and it’s just the right amount of decor for Valentine’s Day. Etsy is a wonderful source for all kinds of unique finds. Rather than purchasing a collection of disposable items I choose to buy one item that is handmade and can be used next year too!
Rather than adding a bowl full of candy I filled my round petal tray with dried rose petals. We do enjoy a little dark chocolate this time of year (a winter weather necessity) but we don’t prefer the commercial candies.
Fragrance is something that makes a how feel cozy so I diffuse essential oils and burn some of my favorite candles. It’s also fun to group votive candles. These are inexpensive and you can use them everywhere. I also added pink tapers to my wooden candle holders.
Last I added flowers. Typically we think of roses at Valentine’s Day but you certainly don’t need to display them. In fact, grocery stores usually up their rose bouquet prices around Valentine’s Day. I filled my blue and white jar with hydrangea and white tulips. The blue, white, red, and pinks, look festive together.
