Adding holiday touches to your bedroom

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads..

This famous poem by Clement Clarke Moore perfectly sums up the magic of the season.  Children dream about yummy treats, twinkly lights, and the anticipation of the Christmas morning. Adults too can share in the joy and excitement of the season by adding simple holiday touches throughout the house.

Get Cozy With Layers

To cozy up our bed, I added an oversized throw and switch out white for flax euro-shams from Pom Pom at Home, a family owned company that carries the most gorgeous Belgium linen and home accessories. The throw is so warm and I like the extra large size for the wintertime.   It’s the perfect accent piece in any room.  I have a couple Pom Pom at Home throws and I sometimes pile them in a basket for easy access when I have company.  When our temperatures get into the 30’s at night I add the Huntington coverlet in Sea GlassIt’s all about the layers in the wintertime!

Add in Accessories

My bed frame and night stands are from The Cross Design.  I added pom pom garland and twinkle lights at the top for some fun holiday ambiance.

On my side table I added peony and pine to my bud vase and added a holiday candle.  Balsam Branch by Agape has been one of my favorites.  The line in nontoxic and priced well.

The throw is over-sized and is the perfect blanket for snuggling up on the couch or adding extra warmth to your bed.  I also love this vintage crochet accent pillow!

On my  upholstered bench a have a vintage bulb, candle, holiday reading, and of course a gingerbread cookie.  I found this round tray on sale (here) and love the design and color.

Your holiday guests will appreciate something pretty in the powder room.  I’ve just added a single flower and a few sprigs of pine and a pleasant holiday spray. Very simple!
