Red and Green Holiday Porch

Red and Green Holiday Porch

No bling, just fresh cedar garland and red Poinsettias. Here in the Pacific Northwest our temperatures will dip into the 30’s beginning in November so I’ll need to bring my Poinsettias when the weather gets chilly.   I found these at my local hardware store and couldn’t resist the price so I thought I go with live this year. Adding burlap will help keep them warm.

Every year we host several Christmas parties and I enjoy creating a beautiful entrance for our guests.  Still missing is the Christmas tree in our window (coming on Friday!).  Next I filled my galvanized bucket with seasonal greens and added it to the front door to welcome our guests.  You can also fill it with kindling!

The garland is fresh and will last about a month when outdoors.  Shop around.  You can usually find garland for less at your local market or hardware store.  My wreathes are faux.  Staying true to my simple, Pacific Northwest design with a less is more approach, I opted for less bling and simply added a soft, satin ribbon.

I hope you enjoyed our red and green holiday porch tour!  Coming up: our Christmas tree and mantle.
