This Green Juice recipe is the ultimate beauty drink! It’s super hydrating and packed full of nutrition and low in sugar. Give it a try and I promise you won’t be disappointed!
What is green juice?
Green juice is made from various green vegetables along with a little bit of fruit to sweeten it up. You can also add ginger, turmeric, parsley, or mint for added health benefits. Some of us are considered dedicated juicers and prefer blending our own however you can purchase bottled green juice at your market. Make sure you check ingredients though as some can contain lots of sugar. A teaspoon of sugar will show up as 6 grams in the ingredient list. Some beverages contain up to 36 grams of sugar, that’s a whomping 6 teaspoons of sugar so always read ingredients. Green juice is best consumed as a refreshing and hydrating beverage. It’s not meant to be used a meal replacement as it doesn’t contain fiber, healthy fats, or protein.
How many calories are in this green juice recipe?
Depends on your portions and what fruits and vegetables you use. This recipe is about 60 calories.
What do I need to make green juice?
There are different ways you can go about making green juice. If you don’t have a juicer, you can blend the veggies and fruit in your blender and strain it through a nut bag. This is easy and then you don’t have to worry about storing another appliance. I use my vitamix, the powerhouse of all blenders. Here’s the model I use, not the most expensive one but works perfectly and it’s all I need. If you want to see how I strain my juice, head over to this blog post.
I had a huge juicer for a least a decade and I finally tossed it. It was replaced with a Breville. It’s much a smaller juicer and easier to store and clean.
Kale, spinach, celery, apple, ginger root, lemon, and cucumber are some of my favorite juicing ingredients.
Green Juice Recipe
Try this version and if it’s not pleasing to your taste then change it up by adding more apple, less ginger, etc..
Wash and cut up your veggies and fruit. I peel my cucumber and lemon, everything else goes in as is. Pour green juice into two glasses and enjoy immediately!

Pressed Green Juice
Try this when your body feels like it needs a little extra TLC. Add more pineapple and less apple for more sweetness.
Ingredients
- 4 stalks of celery
- 1 green apple
- 1 cup pineapple
- 1 cucumber
- 1 full lemon (I use peels and all!)
- 3 kale leaves or a hand full of spinach (fresh or frozen)
- 1 inch piece of peeled fresh ginger
- If you are blending rather than juicing, add a cup or more of coconut water to puree the veggies and fruit. After blending, you will need cheese cloth or a nut milk bag to strain the puree.
Instructions
Gather your ingredients.
Process fruits and veggies through your juicer.
If you are using a blender I recommend a substantial one like a Vitamix. Add coconut water to help puree the mixture and then strain through a nut milk bag.
Adjust fruits and veggies to suit your taste!
