Homemade apple cider recipe

I feel like this is the perfect weekend to make homemade apple cider. It’s basically Fall perfection ~ Fall in a mug actually.

So what could possibly be cozier than a steaming mug of homemade apple cider? How about a giant pot of simmering apple, orange, and warming spices?! This my friends is the perfect treat to make on a blustery Autumn Saturday like today!

Really, this is so easy and one of my favorite Fall recipes.  You only need a few apples and water plus some pumpkin pie spice and lots of cinnamon. For added sweetness I added maple syrup and local honey – yum! If you’d like, go ahead and put all the ingredients in a crock pot or just simmer away on the stove all day.

So what’s on your agenda for today? Shopping perhaps? Well don’t forget to pick up a few apples!  I used honeycrisp and granny smith but use whatever looks good at the market.

So for this Autumn you really need to try homemade apple cider.  It’s fall in a mug really and don’t forget to serve it with apple slices and cinnamon.  It’s also tasty with Spicy Ginger Cake and Pumpkin Pecan Coffee Cake!
