As cold winter days give way to pre-spring conditions, I like to add simple seasonal touches to our kitchen. We live in gardening zone 8b which means our temperature lows are 15 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. That said we generally don’t start gardening or planting outdoors until after Mother’s Day. I don’t know about you but that’s a long time to wait! During this pre-spring period I change up my kitchen decor and create a small indoor garden that can be planted outdoors when the weather warms.

Easy ways to add spring farmhouse decor to your kitchen
1..Add potted plants or plant an indoor garden
An inexpensive and easy way to add spring touches to your kitchen is to add potted plants. Just having something blooming or that’s green does so much to freshen up your space. I put potted plants on my floating shelves and tuck them in corners. This year I used my dough bowl to create an indoor garden. Last year I did something similar. You can read that blog post here.
2. Add a colorful new kitchen linen
I have one decorative linen I hang near my oven or farmhouse sink. In addition to that I have lots of bar mops for wiping up countertops and to dry dishes. In the spring I usually purchase a fresh linen towel for the kitchen.
3. Create a vignette with your favorite spring items
Use a bread or cutting board to display your favorite treasures! Round up a pretty linen, candle, fresh fruit, and potted plant and create a festive spring vignette.
4. Add a bowl of lemons!
This is a no-brainer! Yellow anything works for spring right? Lemons smell so good and look pretty on favorite bowl.
I hope you feel inspired to create a cozy kitchen using spring farmhouse decor! What are your favorite ways to add spring vibes to your kitchen?
